Picnic Field Restoration

Picnic FieldOur Second Project, that commenced in late 2009, was the Picnic Field Restoration where we created a children’s “fairy ring”, a seating area made from rounded logs cut from the trunk of a fallen tree. These seats were stencilled by children from the local Cub Group.

At our request two fixed picnic benches and a connecting gate between the playground and field were installed by the Council.

Two bird boxes were erected in the trees after being painted by children from Middle Park Primary School. Lastly, over two seasons, we planted daffodil bulbs around the perimeter of the field. The spring of 2011 saw the flowers boom for the first time and the field being used regularly by happy families.

The picnic field is a designated Dog Free Area where children can play on uncontaminated grass.
